Responsibilities of the Crystal Reports Developer:
McLane Advanced Technologies is seeking a Crystal Reports Developer to support the Department of Energy (DOE) in Albuquerque, NM.
The Crystal Reports Developer will:
- Design, develop, and maintain Crystal Reports based on business requirements and user specifications.
- Collaborate with end users, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and understand data sources.
- Create complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract data from various databases and other data sources.
- Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of reports by performing rigorous testing and debugging.
- Develop and maintain standardized report templates, style sheets, and formatting guidelines.
- Optimize report performance by analyzing query execution plans and implementing appropriate tuning techniques.
- Generate reports in various formats, such as PDF, Excel, and HTML, and distribute them to the appropriate recipients.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users, ensuring timely resolution of issues related to Crystal Reports.
- Stay updated on the latest Crystal Reports features, best practices, and industry trends, and recommend improvements to enhance reporting capabilities.
- Document report specifications, data sources, and technical details to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain a repository of report assets.
- Collaborate with the development team to integrate Crystal Reports into software applications and ensure seamless functionality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Crystal Reports Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful report development projects.
- Proficient in Crystal Reports, including report design, data connections, formula creation, and subreport implementation.
- Solid understanding of SQL, stored procedures, and database concepts.
- Experience working with various databases, such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and Access.
- Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet project deadlines.
- Ability to obtain or possess an active security clearance
