TEXAS VETERANS COMMISSION CASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Creating an application to streamline Veterans’ claims
MAT developed software to process Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) claims over the Internet and allow approximately 250 users to access and input veteran data into the system simultaneously.
MAT software developers created a web-based, secure portal for secure claims information to be input into a database by multiple users, including veterans. VA DD-214 forms were then populated with data from the database. The information was integrated into the Case Management System and allowed TVC management to generate reports from the data.
To guarantee secure claims information, the system used a versatile security protocol to allow administrators to define user roles and levels of access throughout the application. This allowed secure claims information to be restricted from non-claims employees.
To deliver a robust solution for workflow management, MAT developed work-list management prioritization and productivity performance metrics analysis. The system recorded user information for workload analysis.
Prior to implementation, MAT developed course material to be used to train TVC Case Management trainers. The training materials included a ‘mock’ TVC Case Management System database to be used for classroom exercise and hands-on learning. MAT’s training department developed lesson plans, handouts, practical exercises, and presentations. MAT, in conjunction with TVC experts, validated all trainers and training material through practice sessions in a ‘mock’ classroom.
To effectively implement the system, MAT worked with TVC information technology personnel to install and configure the application in the TVC network environment.
