This effort is a maintenance systems modernization initiative, allowing SAMS-E to act as a bridge between current systems functionality and the future Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution.
SAMS-E modernizes the following functions:
- Automated unit level maintenance, supply and readiness reporting functions
- Day-to-day weapon system and sub-component readiness status
- Maintenance and related repair parts information
- Management functions from the tactical direct support (DS( / general support (GS) level maintenance activities and supports the transition to the Field and Sustainment Maintenance concept (Two – Levels of Maintenance)
SAMS-E is considered a mission critical system that supports the following elements:
- Combat Service Support (CSS) Table of Organization and Equipment(TO&E) unit level maintenance elements
- Field and Sustainment maintenance shop production activities
- Maintenance managers from the battalion to wholesale levels
SAMS-IE
Standard Army Maintenance System – Installation Enhanced (SAMS-IE) is one of the applications that comprise the enhanced version of SAMS-E.
SAMS-IE replaces the SAMS-Installation / Table of Distribution and Allowance (I/TDA) system and provides a secure wireless handheld device that brings real-time capabilities to labor input, work order scanning, inventory, shipping, and receiving functions. SAMS-IE is a client-server system that provides necessary support and business processes.
MAT offers the following SAMS-IE Training:
- Systems Administrator
- Supply Management
- Production Control
- Maintenance Management
- Maintenance Employee
SARSS
Standard Army Retail Supply System (SARSS) provides supply management and stock control at the Army retail level. SARSS is a Combat Service Support peacetime and wartime logistics system that improves supply management and stock control at the Army retail level.
Three interrelated sub-systems comprise SARSS: SARSS-I, SARSS- 2AC/B and SARSS-Gateway.
- SARSS-1 processes time-sensitive activities of receiving, storing, and issuing.
- SARSS-2AC supports management functions such as excess disposition and redistribution.
- SARSS-Gateway offers improved communications and advanced automation functionality.
MAT offers both a 40 hour Basic Operator course and an 80 hour Advanced course.
Students will learn to utilize current regulatory guidance, management principles, shared subject matter experts’ experience, and automation assets to perform daily tasks. They will also receive an overview of SARSS daily procedures to include reports, receipt, storage and issue, and personal utilization.
PBUSE
Property Book Unit Supply Enhanced (PBUSE) is the Army's web-based, state-of-the-art, Combat Service Support property accountability system. PBUSE provides an interactive automated property accountability, asset visibility and management reporting system for unit/organizational property and equipment.
The system’s features provide Standard Property Book System-Redesign (SPBS-R) and Unit Level Supply System-S4 (ULLS-S4) functionality plus seamless data access by permission control system for both garrison and tactical environments.
In addition to timely and accurate information flow, major readiness improvements include an enterprise assets database, graphical user interfaces, and process improvements to simplify existing capabilities, and addresses the "any time, any place" data access needs for property accountability users.
Students receive training on Unit Supply or Property Book. Training includes the Activity Register, Hand Receipt, Ammunition, Interfaces, Reports, MILSTRIP Transactions, and Asset Visibility.
FIELD SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES (FSRs)
MAT has numerous Field Service Representatives available to conduct training and provide technical support and operational process consulting for a wide array of logistical, maintenance, supply, and Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS) computer technology.
MAT FSRs are available upon request and can conduct training worldwide, either at the customer’s location or inside our state-of-the-art training facility at the McLane Advanced Technologies Main Campus located in Temple, Texas. MAT Field Service Representatives are:
- Subject Matter Professionals – Prepared to spend the time to properly troubleshoot system issues to ensure the proper solution is applied correctly, the first time.
- SAMS-E Academy Graduates – Graduates of the SAMS-E Academy, a rigorous, internal, 10-day SAMS-E training course culminating in a pass/fail final exam.
- Historically Successful – Provide both New Equipment Training through the fielding of SAMS-E and sustainment training of multiple STAMIS Systems, modern and legacy, at numerous military installations inside the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
- Available & Flexible – Travel to, conduct training for, and provide feedback to customers on an “as requested/scheduled” basis with as little as one-week’s notice. This flexibility allows our FSRs to react quickly to a wide array of challenges and to proactively plan and develop a tailored troubleshooting process.
MAT FSRs can tailor our support to meet customer requirements and needs. We provide:
- Over-the-Shoulder (OTS) Training – FSRs are available to travel to individual units or organizations to not only assist with SAMS-E technical and functional guidance, but also, as most are veterans of the Armed Forces, to provide assistance with routine automated maintenance and supply processes. This is best conducted in a site visit to the location where the logistical activity is being conducted or where updates are being made within the SAMS-E System by the operators themselves.
- Training Development – MATs FSRs are instructed in tested and refined training processes. We can quickly adapt a training program to software modifications and Army Doctrine changes, offering proven cost savings and speed, from development through course revision and training execution.
- Reach-back Capability – All FSRs possess the necessary training and skills required for independent customer assistance and have immediate access to the MAT software developers, MAT Service Desk, and MAT senior management should the need arise.
- Service Desk (Help Desk) Assistance – All FSRs routinely assist the TIER III Service Desk at McLane Advanced Technologies’ headquarters, which allows them current visibility of customer-related application issues and affords them the additional practice to hone their system troubleshooting and repair skills.
